(「ファインティング・ニモ」の興行的成功は、思いもよらぬ結果を生みました)(CNN) という記事のなかのconsequenceを見て、おや？　と思って読んでいたら、案の定、サンゴ礁に棲息するこの魚が絶滅の危機に瀕しているという内容でした。consequenceはa result of a particular action or situation, often one that is bad or not convenientとありますから、やはり悪い結果に使われる場合が多いと考えればよさそうです。二つほど例文を見つけてみました。The consequences for European history were far more powerful.
